                  Simply Nourish Dog Food Reviews

Simply Nourish dog food is a brand that stays true to its mission. It focuses on providing dogs with healthy nutrition, without all the unnecessary additives. Basically, Simply Nourish aims to simplify your dog’s food while still providing the essential nutrients he needs to grow and thrive.

The brand is mostly trusted by dog owners, especially loyal Petsmart customers. And its food is highly-rated on the website. However, there are some reviews that have mentioned a discrepancy in the ingredients listed on the bags compared to those listed on the website.

One customer notes that a bag of Simply Nourish Limited Ingredient Sweet Potato & Salmon Recipe listed animal digest and natural flavor as ingredients. However, Simply Nourish failed to list this on the website. If this is true, it is cause for concern about this brand of dog food.

                  Pros

Simply Nourish has just the right kind of ingredients you’d want in your dog’s food. And they’re simple, real, and nutritious and definitely live up to the message the brand conveys. Furthermore, the ingredients are absolutely recognizable and real.

Simply Nourish has a great selection, too. No matter the age of your dog or its health condition, you can find the perfect food for him from Simply Nourish. It even has a “limited ingredient” variety for dogs who can’t handle a lot thrown at their digestive system. Still, it's filled with important nutrients and minerals.

                  Cons

Simply Nourish, as a brand, has very little information about itself on the Petsmart website. Rather than have its own website to further explain the brand, it has a sub-page on the Petsmart website that acts as more of a storefront than a brand page. This is a little worrisome when trying to find out as much information as you can about the food you are considering feeding to your dog.

There are also several reviews on websites and forums that have mentioned finding bugs, like moths and maggots, in bags of Simply Nourish. However, there have been no recent recalls of the food.

                  Simply Nourish Reviews of Ingredients

Reviews on Simply Nourish dog food show that Simply Nourish Adult Dog Food: Chicken & Brown Rice is one of the most popular varieties of the brand. Here is how its Guaranteed Analysis looks:

                  • Crude Protein (min) 24%

The first look at this Guaranteed Analysis for Simply Nourish Adult Dog Food: Chicken & Brown Rice proved an impressive nutrient roundup. There are no nutrients that fall short of AAFCO guidelines, which is excellent.

So, it’s on to the ingredients. How do they stack up? First of all, its first three ingredients are chicken, chicken meal, and brown rice. That’s a great start for a dog food marketed as a Chicken & Brown Rice variety, right?

Also, the rest of the ingredients fall right in line. This variety contains ingredients like oatmeal, dried spinach, dried pumpkin, dried blueberries. It also has tons of added minerals and vitamins like Zinc Sulfate, Niacin, and Vitamin A.

The only questionable ingredient is canola oil, which has mixed reviews from dog lovers about its safety in pet food. Canola oil is thought to lead to nervous and immune system disorders, blindness, and other health issues. Its safety has not yet been tested on humans or dogs in long-term studies, but some argue that it has no place in dog food.

                  Simply Nourish Dog Food Reviews

Simply Nourish Dog Food Recall History

There is no history of a Simply Nourish dog food recall within the past two years, according to the FDA. However, some Simply Nourish reviews mention pest infestations. This can be cause for concern.

                  Final Thoughts

Overall, I think Simply Nourish dog food by Petsmart is a solid dog food choice. Its nutrients and ingredients are excellent and, for the most part, it seems to be a brand trusted by its loyal customers. Having no recalls within at least the last two years, it’s clear that Simply Nourish adheres to safety and quality standards required by the FDA

However, some customers have noted a possible discrepancy in the ingredients listed on bags of Simply Nourish dog food compared to those listed on the website. There are also several online reviews mentioning problems with pests inside unopened bags of Simply Nourish, which could indicate quality control issues from the Simply Nourish dog food manufacturer, American Nutrition.

For these reasons, I can’t rate this brand a 5-Treat dog food. However, I am confident that Simply Nourish provides some of the best nutrition from a dog food that money can buy.

I have been using Simply Nourish for over a year now. My dog just loves this food. The allergies he had before are gone and his skin and coat have improved. I have found that you should check the bags thoroughly before leaving the store. I have seen bags with really small tears or holes that allow the pest to get inside and worms crawling around. I don’t think it is a manufacturer process just bad bag design. I wish they would make more flavors available for the large breed dogs.

Any pests or bugs typically happen in the distribution center or while in the shelf at the store, often from a bag that was compromised.

                    Hello Dom
I can only suggest that you take photos and return the bag to the retailer. This is definitely not good. Also check the expiration date on the bag.

I found worms (maggots?) in my dogs Simply Nourish Senior dry food. Suspected it for over a year but wasn’t sure if I had a seasonal bug in my pantry infesting the food or vice versa. I got a new bag today and holy cow, cocoon/nests waiting to hatch and live worms. I would post a pic if I could. It has to be at factory level as its been going on for a year with multiple 30 lb bags bought.

Bugs and maggots are still happening! Just returned 2 24 pound bags to PetSmart. I’d consider another brand. We opted for Blue Basics.

has Animal Digest in list of ingredients. They need to remove that ingredient and I’d buy it for my puppy. So far, not found in Rachel Ray products.

I have a bag of freeze dried dog treats beef liver and on some of the treats I found pieces of paper that are still stuck to the treats luckily I noticed it and didn’t give it to my dog because they are non-digestible and I’m wondering what’s going on with your quality control please contact me at ******* or you can email me at the email above thank you very much.
